I am often asked "When is the BEST time to sell my home?" My answer is typically that the best time to sell your home is when it is best for YOU. The market has rebounded and interest rates are low. The internet and online tours have replaced the traditional & much more weather-affected "drive-by" house hunting and open house marketing strategies. Any time of year can be a good time to sell your home provided that YOU are ready. Put your home up for sale when you have had time to properly prepare your home for sale by de-cluttering, staging, cleaning, having necessary repairs done and completing any other Realtor-suggested items. Put your home up for sale when your work/life schedule permits you to be flexible for showings and to remove pets from the home during showings. In the event you are up-sizing or down-sizing in the same area, discuss timing strategy for putting your home up for sale with your Realtor to allow for a smooth transition between properties.
Closing Time!
My client, Laura, recently closed on her new home in Sterling Heights. The 1,550 SFT Ranch style home built in 1989 offers 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a finished basement with bar and attached garage. Unlike the older 1950’s and 1960’s-built ranches, this home offers vaulted ceilings, a 1st floor laundry room and an open floorplan.
The home offers a private, wooded view and is located nearby to Laura’s work, nearby to area shopping and businesses and is in the award-winning Utica School District. I knew it was the right home for her from the moment that we stepped into the foyer. In addition to having updated mechanical features, the previous owner had done several high-end cosmetic upgrades and improvements to the home including custom tile, hardwood floors, professional landscaping, brick paver walkway and patio, crown moldings & custom window treatments. These touches were above and beyond that of competing properties we had toured. Congratulations to Laura on her new home!
